Founded in 2005, Spring Airlines is a budget airline headquartered in Homeyo Hotel in Changning District, Shanghai, China. Its Chinese name, 春秋航空, means "Spring and Autumn Airlines” in English. The airline has hubs in Shanghai Pudong International Airport and Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport and its focus city is in Shijiazhuang Zhengding International Airport. It is the aviation subsidiary of Shanghai Spring International Travel Service. Spring Airlines is currently China’s only no frills airline. It has a fleet size of 51 (Airbus A320) and serves more than 90 destinations. The airline won top safety awards from Airbus and China’s Aviation Authorities. It offers fares 40% lower than competitors and promotional fares from as low as CNY 1.

Baggage Allowance & Fees

There are several kinds of baggage allowance offered per type of flight. For domestic flights, each passenger is entitled to a 7kg carry-on baggage only, not exceeding 20x30x40cm (5kg carry-on baggage only for flights to and from Urumqi) when Spring SuperSaver & SpringSaver or “seat-only” fare is purchased; 15kg total baggage allowance (checked and carry-on) for SpringFlexi fare; and 25kg total baggage allowance (checked and carry-on) for SpringPlus fare. For regional and international flights, Spring SuperSaver & SpringSaver fare comes with 15kg total baggage allowance (checked and carry-on); for SpringFlexi fare, the carry-on luggage may not exceed 5kg; and SpringPlus fare allows 25kg total baggage allowance (checked and carry-on). Excess baggage for all types of flight is calculated according to full fare prices determined by China’s Civil Aviation authorities. For carry-on baggage, each passenger is entitled to one piece of approved carry-on baggage on the flight for free. The baggage must not exceed the set allowance (domestic - 7kg max, regional, international, and Urumqi - 5kg max).

Booking Fees

The airline accepts payments from majority of debit and credit cards. Those who will purchase tickets online are entitled to Series 99 discounts, among other deals at great prices. International payments accepted include IPS ePayment (USD, JPY, HKD, NTD, KRW only); PayDollar, Visa, and MasterCard (USD, HKD, THB, NTD only); and E-commerce, Visa, MasterCard, JCB, American Express, and AEON (JPY only). For Chinese bank cards, accepted payments include Tenpay, Alipay, Yeepay, and 99Bill.

The airline serves more than 90 routes across China and beyond, including a growing number of scheduled flights to South East Asian destinations. Chinese destinations include Shanghai, Beijing, Tianjin, Chongqing, Hebei, Henan, Shandong, Hunan, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Fujian, Guangdong, Guangxi, Hainan, Sichuan, Guizhou, Yunnan, Xinjiang, Gansu, Shaanxi, Inner Mongolia, Heilongjiang, Jilin, and Liaoning. There are also direct flights to Hong Kong, Macau, Siem Reap in Cambodia, Singapore, Kaohsiung in Taiwan, Jeju in South Korea, Da Nang in Vietnam, and Makassar in Indonesia; Bangkok-Suvarnabhumi, Phuket, and Chiang Mai in Thailand; and Nagoya, Ibaraki, Osaka, Saga, Takamatsu, and Sapporo in Japan.

Bus Transfer

Spring Airlines provides ground transport for its passengers’ convenience. There are free airport early bird shuttles to and from Pudong Airport and Shenzhen Airport. There’s also airport transportation to Hongqiao Airport, Shijiazhuang Airport, Zhuhai Airport (Macao Express Shuttle), Ibaraki Airport, Takamatsu Airport, and Saga Airport.
