Thai Airways is the flag carrier airline of Thailand. The airline primarily operates out of its main hub at Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok, with focus cities which include Chiang Mai Hong Kong Phuket and Seoul–Incheon. Thai Airways is a founding member of the Star Alliance. It has a frequent flyer program is called Royal Orchid Plus. Miles can be earned from travel in particular classes of service on Thai Airways and Star Alliance airlines or even non-airline partners, such as hotels. Thai Airways, together with its subsidiaries, Nok Air and Thai Smile, flies to 84 destinations in 37 countries, using a fleet of over 90 aircraft. Its route network is dominated by flights to Europe, Asia, and selected cities in Oceania. Thai Airways also flies twice daily from Bangkok to Manila Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1.

Check In Procedue

Passengers on Thai Airways can check-in online from 24 hours up to an hour before the scheduled departure time. Online check-in can be done on the Thai Airways website or via the airline's app. For mobile check-in, you can just download your boarding card to your phone and present it at the airport. If you have special requirements or excess baggage, you can check-in at the Thai Airways counters at the airport.

Baggage Allowances

Each passenger of Thai Airlines can have one carry-on luggage no larger than 56x45x25 cm and up to 7 kilograms. Additional personal handbag, laptop bag or purse is not included in this baggage allowance. For checked baggage, the allowance varies and depends on your frequent flyer status, your fare class, distance, and destination. For domestic flights, you can check-in luggage with a combined weight of 30-40 kilograms. Complimentary baggage allowance can go up 50 kilograms for longer trips. Check the airline's website or your ticket for the complimentary baggage policy.


Flights on A380 and B747 will have the top tier seat class, the Royal First Class. These are for long-haul flights and comes with a leather seat that reclines flat in a semi-private suite with a table. Royal Silk Class also has seats that convert to lie-flat beds. Economy Class had wide recliners seats with comfortable leg room.

F&B Options

All passengers on Thai Airways flights will be served a snack or a hot meal, depending on the flight time. Thai Airway’s chefs create menus inspired by the flavors of Thailand and cuisines of the world using fresh local and seasonal ingredients. Each Premium Economy and Economy Class hot meal offer a choice of the main course, salad, bread and fresh fruit or a dessert. Royal Silk Class will also enjoy a hot towel and a choice of champagne, or juice before take-off. For passengers with particular religious, health, or dietary preferences, special meals may be requested no less than 48 hours before the time of flight departure at the original destination.


The in-flight entertainment system on Thai Airways offers an extensive range of movies, games, and music on large personal screens. Wi-Fi service for a fee is offered on several routes.
