Philippine Airlines, or previously known as Philippine Air Lines, is the national flag carrier. Philippine Airlines Hub & Secondary Airports

New Routes from PAL

Starting from 1 December 2017, PAL will be flying to four new destination cities from Cebu: Camiguin, Legazpi, Siargao and Ozamiz. Checking In Guide

Philippine Airlines offers passengers with confirmed bookings and valid e-tickets the option to check-in online through their official website. Do note that passengers in need of medical or special assistance, minors traveling alone and group bookings may not be eligible for web check-in. Online check-in can be done through your desktop or mobile device. However, checking in online on a mobile device may be limited such as changing of seat selection. Passengers can begin to check-in online as early as 24 hours to an hour before the departure time. All passengers, with or without checked baggage, would still need to check-in at the airport counters at least 45 minutes to an hour before the departure time.

Seating Guide

Most flights with Philippine Airlines offer two cabin classes of business and economy class. The airline class their business class as Mabuhay Class while their economy as Fiesta Class. Some flights, those on A321 aircraft and selected A330 aircraft, may offer a premium economy class. Philippine Airlines offers a special service they call the Advance Seat Reservation with a minimal cost to each passenger. This service allows passengers to pre-book their choice set whether be it a window, aisle or forward cabin seat. Domestic flights charge a Php250 (US$5) fee per sector while regional and other international flights may charge from US$15 to US$50 per sector. Availing of the Advance Seat Reservation can be done while booking online or when purchasing through Philippine Airlines’ reservation call center or ticket office. Pre-booking seats can be done up to 24 hours before flight departure.

Baggage Fees

Each passenger on a Philippine Airlines flight is allowed to carry on one piece of hand carried luggage onboard not exceeding 45 inches or 115 centimeters and not weighing more than 7 kilograms or 15 pounds. The complimentary checked baggage allowance varies depending on your destination and travel class. All domestic flights have a free baggage allowance of at least 10 kilos for economy class passengers, 25 kilos for premium economy, 30 kilos for business class and 35 kilos for premium business class. An excess baggage fee of Php200 (US$4) per kilo per piece applies to all travel classes.

For Southeast Asia routes, baggage allowance will vary depending on destination. Economy and premium economy class passengers have a maximum of 20 to 30 kilos while business class passengers have a maximum of 30 to 40 kilos free baggage allowance.

For flights to and from Australia and New Zealand, economy and premium economy class passengers have a baggage allowance of up to 30 kilos while business class passengers have up to 40 kilos.

For flights to and from Japan, Europe, and the Middle East, business class passengers are allowed to check-in two pieces of luggage up to 32 kilos or 70 pounds each piece. Economy and premium economy class passengers are allowed two pieces of luggage up to 23 kilos or 50 pounds each piece. Except for the Middle East where premium economy passengers can have up to 32 kilos or 70 pounds per piece.

Excess baggage fees for all international routes will vary based on the destination city. Do also note that luggage size restrictions may also apply based on destination and travel class.

In-flight Services

Philippine Airlines offers a range of onboard entertainment from the latest local and international movies and television shows, choice radio channels, and CD music libraries and select games including those suitable for kids. Business class passengers can also take advantage of free use of iPad devices onboard which is pre-loaded with a library of popular movies, television shows, music, and interactive games. The new B777-300ER aircraft are equipped with the latest fully digital in-flight entertainment system. Each seat has a personal 9-inch touchscreen monitor with an audio-video on demand feature that allows passengers the option to play, pause, rewind or fast-forward through any of the programs.

Meals will also be served onboard ranging from traditional local and fusion cuisine. Philippine Airlines, as part of their Food Festivals in the Sky program, regularly invites guest chefs and culinary personalities to create unique meals for their passengers.
