Malaysia Airlines offers a web check-in service, which is available on all internet-enabled devices. The service opens 48 hours before the flight, closes 90 minutes before flights. You need your booking reference number on hand for this. The privilege is offered to all Platinum and Gold members of the carrier's frequent flyer program, Enrich Miles, and First or Business Class passengers also have the option of checking in over the phone. For those who will be checking-in at the airport, please note that counters open 120 minutes before flights and closes 45 minutes before. For international travel, it is recommended to be at the airport at least two hours before your flight. For domestic trips, arrive 90 minutes before your flight.

Baggage Fees

The free baggage allowance on Malaysia Airline flights varies depending on the flight, class, and frequent flyer membership. Economy passengers are allowed checked baggage with a maximum combined weight of 30 kilograms, Business Class passengers have 40 kilograms’ baggage allowance, while Business Class passengers are allowed 50 kilograms. Allowable cabin baggage for Economy class passengers is 1 item at 7 kilograms, while Business and First Class are allowed two items with a total weight of 14 kilograms. Enrich members are entitled to extra baggage allowances. Enrich Silver members are allowed an additional 5 kilograms extra checked baggage allowance. Gold members entitled to an additional 50% baggage allowance over and above their regular baggage allowance, while Platinum members can have double the baggage allowance.

Seating Plan

Malaysia Airlines offers advance seat selection for all flights and classes. Passengers can choose their preferred seat when booking their flight or when checking in online. Economy class passengers may choose their seats, between Premium Economy and Standard Seats under the ‘Favourite Spot’ program. On the Airbus A380 aircraft used for long-haul flights, Business Class seats recline fully to 558 x 1880 cm flatbeds, while First Class passengers will enjoy Open Suite. For the narrower Boeing aircraft, Business Class seats are recliners. The seats recline 6 inches and have a 32-inch pitch and 18-inch in-seat width. All seats are equipped with personal audio-video on-demand screens, power outlets, and USB ports.

F&B Offerings

Inflight meal offerings vary by cabin class. All food and beverages served are strictly halal. Special meals are offered on certain flights but must be ordered at least 24 hours before departure. Passengers will have two food choices for short-haul flights. Chef-on-Call services are available for First Class or Business Class on long-haul flights.

Entertainment Offerings

Malaysia Airlines offers video on demand for all classes with personal AVOd systems and screens.
