Why fly with Japan Airlines

Check In

Japan Airlines offers various check-in services for its passengers. Their online check-in service, Quik, allows you to choose your seats, check-in, manage your miles and get your boarding tickets even before arriving at the airport. At the airport, you just need to drop off your baggage at the counter and proceed to security check and immigration. Mobile boarding pass via mobile phones may also be used for certain flights. Other options for checking-in are personally queueing at the check-in counters or through the self-check-in counters. These self-service kiosks, however, are only available at Narita, Kansai, and Haneda International Airports.

Baggage Allowance

Each passenger is only allowed one carry-on hand luggage of up to 10 kilograms which must have dimensions within 55cm× 40cm× 25cm. For check-in baggage, Japan Airlines Economy and Premium Economy passengers get complimentary baggage allowance of up to 2 pieces of 23 kilograms each. Business Class and First Class passengers get up to 3 items of 32 kilograms each.

Seating Plan

All seats on Japan Airlines from Economy class to First class, are all ergonomically designed for maximum comfort and safety. Even the Economy class seats have a wider than an average seat and ample leg room. All seats are also fitted with a power point and USB point. The Premium Economy class seat has a 10cm increased leg space than the Economy class and a better resting angle. Business class passengers will be treated to the Skytrax "Best Business Class Airlines Seat," the Sky Suite, which has privacy screens, generous seat width which can recline to a flat bed position.

F&B

The JAL Kitchen Gallery offers in-flight meals on intercontinental routes, depending on the cabin class, destination and flight length. Passengers can choose from Western and Japanese menu selections prepared by renowned Japanese chefs. Japan Airlines also offers a children’s menu.

Entertainment

Japan Airlines' the in-flight entertainment system, "MAGIC," is a 10.6-inch personal touchscreen panel that is packed with a good variety of movies, audio tracks, and games to keep you entertained for hours. One uniquely Japanese feature is the "SKY MANGA" or digital Japanese comic books with over 100 titles of comics in Japanese and English. On selected aircraft, the in-flight entertainment programs have Audio Description and Captions will be available for all passengers with impaired vision or hearing.
