Emirates is the national airline of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. It is the largest airline in the Middle East and the fourth largest in the world. From its hub at Dubai International Airport, Emirates flies to over 150 destinations across six continents. Unlike most major airlines, Emirates does not belong to any global airline alliances. In addition to ‘Airline of the Year’ award, Emirates also received ‘Best Middle East Airline’ and World’s Best Inflight Entertainment’ at the 2013 edition of the annual Skytrax World Airline Awards. The airline also has the world's largest fleets of the Boeing 777 and the Airbus A380. Emirates serves many routes in South and Southeast Asian region, including the Philippines. It operates regular direct flights from Dubai to Manila, Cebu, and Clark. Why Fly with Emirates

Check-In Process

Online check-in is available for Emirates flights via the website or The Emirates app. The service opens 48 hours before flight departure. Print your boarding pass or get a mobile boarding pass on your phone and simply drop your bags at the baggage drop counter at the airport before heading to security. At the airport, you can also check in via self-service kiosks, available at selected airports, or at the airport counters. Do note that check-in counters open 3 hours and close 90 minutes before flight departure. Remember to bring necessary documents such as your passport, itinerary, the credit card used for booking, and any other travel documents which will be required at the counter.

Seating Plan

Emirates has three seat classes- First Class, Business Class, and Economy Class. This aircraft operates with three classes of service. First Class has individual private suites and is offered on almost all A380 and B777 aircraft. Business Class has flat/bed seats, while Economy Class have recliner seats with adjustable headrests. Each seat has in-flight power sockets and individual entertainment screens. Seat selection is free for Business Class, First Class, or in Economy Class on a Flex or Flex Plus fare. Passengers in Economy Class on a Special or Saver fare need to pay for Advance Seat Reservation. Members of Emirates Skywards or Qantas Frequent Flyer (Gold or Platinum) can also book seats in advance for free.

Baggage Allowance and Fees

The Economy Class can have 1pc of 7k carry-on bag, while First and Business class has double the carry-on baggage allowance. The maximum checked baggage allowance for First Class is 50 kilograms. Each bag must not weigh more than 32 kilograms. Business Class passengers have 40 kilograms, and Economy Class have 20-35 kilograms’ baggage allowance depending on fare sub-category. Infants are entitled to 10 kilograms of hand carry baggage and up to 23 kilograms of checked baggage.

F&B Options

Complimentary catering service is available for all flights and all cabin classes in Emirates. First Class and Business Class can also enjoy food on demand. Emirates also offers special meal options, in all classes, based on age, dietary restrictions, preference and religious observance. Special meals must be ordered in advance, at least 24 hours before the flight departure time. Halal meals, however, do not need to be booked as they are part of the regular meal.

Entertainment

All three classes on Emirates flights feature a personal in-flight entertainment system, ICE or Information, Communication, Entertainment. This in-flight entertainment system has consistently won the award for best in-flight-entertainment from Skytrax. ICE offers more channels than any other in-flight entertainment system, with over 2500 channels of movies, TV shows, music, and games. Kids can also enjoy favorite cartoons and games.
