I would say it is a very typical south east asian capital. DIrty, full of people and pollution... I still think it was a good decision to go there, as I got a sense of how real Asia was (not only the beautiful things you see in pictures). However, if you don't have much time, I would rather spend time in other places.

I m curently living in Manila and it s a wonderfull place if you love to discuss with nice people. Pinoys (filipinos) are amazing and always ready for a good joke, to help or to share a good meal. Once you visited Philippines, you might come back more often to discover the rest of the country (Rices terraces, White sand beach, Surfing spots and more !)

Philippines capital and seat of the national government. This is where history abounds especially in the old walled city of Intramuros. You can still see the Spanish influence from 3 centuries of Hispanic rule.

Vibrant, hectic, energetic, and chaotic are some of the words that come to mind when describing this young and rapidly growing city. Lots of enormous malls if that is your thing. There is also the more tranquil historic center of Intramuros, which is definitely worth checking out.
