When is The Best Time to Visit Taipei?

Taipei is best to visit during summer, or between the months June to August. During these months, Taipei's city crowd is considered off-peak, so you will find the best deal on flights, hotels, and other accommodation option. Visiting Taipei in July will also take you to locals' Ghost Month celebration where festivals and religious ceremonies are available to observe. However, remember that Taipei's summer season is hot and humid, so you better take your sunglasses, sun block, and hat at the ready.

What are The Must-Go Places in Taipei?

  • Taipei 101

Considered as the city’s iconic landmark, Taipei 101 is definitely worth your visit. With 101 floors, it is the fourth tallest building in the entire universe that’s hardly missed by any tourist come visiting. You can purchase the ticket on the tower’s fifth floor and head towards the observation deck within 40 minutes only.  If the weather is good, tourists are allowed access to the 91st floor. Shopping is another favored activity in here, where world-class designers' boutiques dominate the first, fifth floor.

  • National Palace Museum

Visiting this landmark, you will encounter some fine, ancient Chinese arts including paintings and calligraphies, ceramics, weapons and others over Chinese dynasties. For English-speaking tourists, you don’t have to hire a private guide because the museum provides a tour where the guide will explain anything you want to know in English. It’s relatively easy to get to the National Palace Museum; just take exit 1 from Shilin MRT station and catch a bus (205, 305, or 815).

  • Dihua Street

The place offers anything cheap you crave from the city center of Taipei. It was known to be ‘Centre Street’, where Chinese medicine herbs are sold along with fabric market. Now, Dihua Street is home for restaurants, cafes, antique shops, and art studios. You may want to taste the delicacy of its local cuisine after wandering around the street looking for some vintage painting. There is also Yongle Market, where its 8th and 9th floors are often holding traditional performances by local artists.
