The Banaue Rice Terraces are located 5,000 feet above sea level and are fed by an ancient irrigation system from the rainforests situated above the terraces. To this day, locals still use the terraces to plant rice and vegetables.

Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park – Located around 80 kilometers from the city center of Puerto Princesa in Palawan, the river is also known as the Puerto Princesa Underground River. It is a protected area and visitors would have to take a short hike or boat ride from the town of Sabang to get to the river. Recent discoveries to the park include a second floor to the underground river that means that there are small waterfalls inside the cave. A cave dome measuring 980 feet above the river as well as rock formations and several marine creatures have also been discovered in the area.

Mayon Volcano – Also referred to as Mount Mayon, the Mayon Volcano is an active volcano located in the Albay Province of Luzon Island. It is often described to have a “perfect cone” thanks to its almost symmetric conical shape. It is also considered to be the most perfectly formed volcano in the world. Mayon Volcano rises 8,077 feet above sea level, specifically from the shores of the Gulf of Albay.

Philippine Airlines, the country’s flagship airline, has flights to the country from various points in Asia and the United States.
