South Korea is officially called the Republic of Korea and commonly referred to as just Korea. It is located in East Asia and shares a land border with China and an oversea border with Japan. This increasing growth in tourism is credited to Hallyu which is a Korean term that means “Korean Wave” and refers to the increase in popularity of South Korean culture beginning in the late 1990s largely due to the spread of Korean pop music (K-pop) and Korean dramas that was televised in countries around Asia.

China – Officially known as the People’s Republic of China, it is located in East China and considered to be the country with the largest population in the world. It is an enormous country that it shares a border with 14 nations. China also has many destinations and sights for travelers to enjoy.
