The Netherlands is a country in Western Europe and the main constituent country of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Stichting Koninklijke Rotterdamse Diergaarde - The Foundation Royal Zoo of Rotterdam, also called Diergaarde Blijdorp, is one of the oldest zoos in the Netherlands. It was opened in 1857 and is located in the northwestern part of Rotterdam. The zoo participates in about 70 breeding programs and studbooks and houses animals from all over the world, particularly Asia, Europe, Africa, South America, and North America. The zoo also features a botanical garden and Oceanium.
Cycling - One popular activity in the Netherlands for locals and tourists alike is cycling. The country has about 22,000 km dedicated bicycle paths, many of which are numbered for easier navigation. It's a great way of getting around the Netherlands while getting some exercise and fresh air at the same time. Favourite cycling areas with scenic views include the Hoge Veluwe National Park, South Limburg, Green Heart, and the Waterland and Zaan Region.
