IndiGo is one of India's low-cost airlines. It is based in Haryana, India and is considered to be India's largest airline based on the number of passengers carried. IndiGo operates flights to over 40 destinations with its primary hub located at the Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) in Delhi. It is also known as the second largest low-cost carrier in Asia. Founded in 2006, IndiGo has grown to a fleet size of 126 Airbus A320 aircraft, making it one of the fastest growing budget airlines in the world and was India’s largest profitable airline.

IndiGo operates over 800 daily flights to over 40 destinations most of which are in India with 6 international destinations including Dubai, Bangkok, Singapore, Muscat, and Kathmandu. The airline has won several awards such as Best Low-Cost Carrier in Asia/India from 2012 to 2016 by Skytrax and Best LCC Aviation Award by the Centre of Asia Pacific Aviation in 2015.

Ways To Check-In

IndiGo offers its passengers several ways to check-in for their convenience and comfort. Travelers can choose to check-in online through the airline's official website, through the official mobile app or through one of their Kiosk Check-in service which is available in selected airports. Passengers with no checked baggage may proceed directly to the boarding gate. Check-in options vary depending on your flight or departing airport so it is best to check with your travel agent or through IndiGo's official website for more information.

Baggage Allowance & Fees

IndiGo offers free checked baggage allowance to all passengers. Travelers flying domestic can check-in up to 15 kilograms while international passengers can check-in up to 20 kilograms. Flights to Dubai or Muscat is up to 30 kilograms. Should you exceed the maximum weight, a flat rate will be charged per kilogram at the time of check-in.

For cabin baggage allowance, passengers can carry a maximum of 7 kilograms not exceeding the measurement of 55 cm x 35 cm x 25 cm or a total of 158 centimeters or 62 inches. This includes laptops and duty-free shopping bags.


IndiGo only offers one cabin class on all flights – economy class for all 180 passengers per aircraft. However, the airline does offer premium services where passengers can choose to avail of additional benefits for a fee such as pre-assigned seating.

In-flight Services

To keep fares low and competitive, IndiGo does not offer complimentary meal services during the flight. Passengers can choose to pre-purchase meals during the booking process or adding it on later by calling the airline's call center. Select food items are available to purchase in-flight. Inflight entertainment is not offered or available on IndiGo flights.
