Iloilo International Airport, more popularly known as Iloilo Airport, is located in Cabatuan province in Iloilo, Philippines. This airport is also known as Cabatuan Airport due to its location as well as Santa Barbara Airport for the nearby province of Santa Barbara, Iloilo. It is the fourth busiest airport in the Philippines and relatively new. It was officially opened back in 2007 replacing the old Iloilo Airport that was located in Mandurriao, Iloilo City. The new Iloilo International Airport inherited the old airport’s IATA and ICAO airport codes and continues to serve the province of Iloilo which is the regional center of Western Visayas.

The Iloilo Airport serves both domestic and international travel. Domestic routes to and from Manila are operated by Cebu Pacific, Philippine Airlines through PAL Express and Tigerair Philippines. Cebu Pacific also offers domestic routes to and from Cebu, Cagayan de Oro, Davao, General Santos and Puerto Princesa. Meanwhile, international routes are also operated by Cebu Pacific to and from Hong Kong and Singapore

Before you leave Iloilo, don’t forget to visit the Miag-ao Fortress Church. It is listed as one of UNESCO’s World Cultural Heritage sites and one of the many historical churches found in Iloilo. The province boasts of many churches with Spanish influenced architectural structures. There are so many of them that you can go church hopping from the north to the south of the island. Hong Kong – For when you’re ready to depart from the Philippines, Hong Kong is a great next destination. Hong Kong is known for its beautiful skyline of skyscrapers but it is not just all tall buildings. It also has stunning country parks and marine parks. Lantau Island is worth checking out where you will find quiet beaches, monasteries and traditional fishing villages. From there, take a ride off Tung Chung to view Chinese White Dolphins which are actually naturally pink. Hong Kong is also a great destination for families with kids and kids at heart with several theme parks including Hong Kong Disneyland Resort and Ocean Park. Disneyland is on Lantau Island and features a Disneyland park, lake recreation center and two resort hotels. Try to visit outside peak seasons including Chinese New Year, Christmas, Halloween and Easter holidays. Meanwhile, Ocean Park is on the southern side of Hong Kong. It houses several roller coasters and large aquariums. Ocean Park is an old park but is now considered as a landmark among locals and tourists alike.

Vancouver Aquarium is a must-see especially for travelers with little kids. It is a public aquarium located in Stanley Park which is also a center for marine research, conservation and marine animal rehabilitation. The aquarium houses around 70,000 animals across 6,000 species. Make sure to take your time in the aquarium as there are several different galleries and around 166 aquatic displays to visit. Another tourist spot to visit would the Stanley Park which is a 1,001-acre public park in downtown Vancouver. Within the park are several attractions to visit including the polar bear exhibit, miniature train and an aquarium.
