Antigua and Barbuda are two Caribbean islands between the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean that forms a twin-island country. Antigua and Barbuda is also known as the Land of 365 Beaches and offers the typical modern day view of a tourist destination in the Caribbean.

Where to go

Half Moon Bay - Beautiful and tranquil, Half Moon Bay offers visitors one of the best beaches in Antigua. On calm days, snorkelling is a nice activity, as is lazing around on the fine white sand and swimming in the azure sea. Note though that the surf can be rough when the wind is up. For anyone looking for snacks, there is a small restaurant just off the beach.

St. John's Cathedral - St. John's Cathedral, with its Baroque-style towers, is a city landmark that has undergone many reincarnations. The original cathedral was wooden, created in 1683, and was rebuilt from stone in 1745 and again in 1847.

Museum of Antigua and Barbuda - The country has a museum called Museum of Antigua and Barbuda, located in St. John's. It is housed in the colonial Court House constructed in 1747, the oldest building in the city still in use. The museum features Arawakand colonial artefacts discovered around the islands.

Dickenson Bay - If Half Moon Bay is too secluded for the tourist's taste, Dickenson Bay offers a long stretch of white sand beach as well as resorts and restaurants. The water is excellent for swimming and water sports, especially windsurfing.
