Why Fly with Southwest?

Check In

Passengers can do web check-in or mobile check-in starting from 24 hours up to 60 minutes before the flight departure time. You can have a printable boarding pass or receive a mobile boarding pass on your personal mobile device. Upon arrival at the airport, you can drop-off your bags at the Bag Drop kiosk, at the curbside counter or the ticket counter. Self-service check-in kiosks and curbside check-in are also available at many selected airports. If you have special travel requirements, ticket counter check-in is required. Southwest also offers Early Bird Check-in for a fee. This option gives a better change at preferred seat selection.

All of the aircraft in Southwest Airlines' fleet are Boeing 737s which are all configured in a single Economy Class cabin. The seats are standard 17" wide E-leather seats with a 32-33" seat pitch. On Southwest, there is no pre-assigned seating. The boarding procedure will determine which zone you will be seated at. You can, however, pay a fee for early boarding so that you can choose your seat.

Carry-on baggage is free on Southwest Airlines. Passengers can also carry one personal item such as a purse or briefcase. Carry-on baggage must be able to fit in the overhead bin or under the seat in front of you. For checked baggage, the complimentary limit is two bags with a maximum weight of 23 kilograms. Fees are applicable for excess and oversized baggage.
