Transavia Airlines C.V., or transavia.com, also known as Transavia,is a Dutch low-cost airline that operates as an independent part of the Air France-KLM group.  It also operates scheduled, charter flights and services, to various leisure destinations.  With its main base at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, Haarlemmermeer, Netherlands, Transavia also has secondary hubs within the Rotterdam The Hague Airport and Eindhoven Airport, along with the Paris-Orly Airport as its main base in France.

The airline’s current fleet, which excludes Transavia France, consists of a total of 35, with nine Boeing 737-700, and 26 Boeing 737-800, each handling 149 passengers and 189 passengers, respectively.

How to Check In

Transavia lets its passengers check-in online starting 24 hours to four hours before the scheduled flight departure. The online check-in option ensures passengers have their booking confirmation number, while letting group or individual passengers check-in, and print out all boarding passes, and pick a preferred seat during the flight. With the online check-in option, Transavia also has airport check-in counters, and self-service kiosks. Self-service kiosks are available at the Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. To check-in via these kiosks, passengers need the following: booking confirmation code, along with an ID, or passport. The kiosks are available for use from two and a half hours to 40 minutes before flight departure. Check-in via airport counters is also possible with Transavia. To check-in, passengers need the booking confirmation code, along with proof of identity/ ID, or passport. Opening and closing times for the check-in counters differ per airport, Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, three hours to 40 minutes; Paris-Orly or Lyon, three hours to 50 minutes; Eindhoven Airport, Nantes, or Lille, two and a half hours to 40 minutes; Dubai, three hours to 60 minutes; Casablanca two and a half hours to 60 minutes; and two hours and 40 minutes before flight departure on other airports.

Baggage Allowance & Fees

Transavia allows one hand luggage and a checked luggage per passenger. Baggage guidelines are to be followed with the recommended dimensions for carry-on baggage at a maximum of 40 x 25 x 20 cm, less than 10 kilograms, while checked luggage or hold luggage should be at 55 x 35 x 25 cm.

Inflight Food

Transavia has the ‘selection on board’ option. With the buy on-board service, airline passengers can avail of food and drinks on board the aircraft during their flight. The on-board selection features a complete assortment of snacks, along with hot and cold beverages are offered at good prices. Transavia accepts credit card and in Euros.

Bus Transfer

Transavia has options available for airport transportation within the Netherlands as well as other countries. Passengers are given the option to book these transfers in advance.
