Egyptian Pyramids – These are ancient pyramid-shaped masonry structures located in Egypt. There are around 118 to 138 pyramids in the country with most of them built as tombs for Egyptian pharaohs during the period of Old and Middle Kingdom. The most famous of these pyramids are found at Giza just outside of Cairo. These Giza pyramids are considered to be the largest structures ever built with the Pyramid of Khufu being the largest Egyptian pyramid.

Giza Necropolis – Located on the Giza Plateau outside of Cairo, the Giza Necropolis is an archeological site and complex of ancient monuments. It includes the Great Pyramids, which consist of the three pyramid complexes; the Great Sphinx, which is a massive sculpture of a reclining mythical creature with a lion’s body and human head; an industrial complex, a worker’s village and several cemeteries.

Valley of the Kings – A valley in Egypt where tombs for the pharaohs and powerful nobles were built for a period of 500 years from the 16th to 11th century BC. It is located in the Nile’s west bank and within the heart of the Theban Necropolis. The Valley of the Kings consists of two valleys – the East and West Valley. The East Valley is where most of the royal tombs are located.
