Centre Ville - In this location, tourists can find colonial-era edifices scattered in the center, including the old Hôtel de Ville , which started life as a coffee warehouse for the French East India Company during the 18th century. This old colonial-era train station is now occupied by the Café de la Gare, which is a Latina Café. Visitors should also see is the Entrepôt Kervéguen, which was also used as a warehouse by the French East India Company. In the same area, keep your eyes peeled for the Médiathèque Raphaël Barquisseau, another building dating from the thriving era of the French East India Company.

Le Maïdo - Found in Cilaos, Le Maïdo comes from a Malagasy word that means "burnt land" and a reference to the burnt appearance of the scrub forest at this altitude. Travelling hikers can hike up and down this place for a breathtaking view of the cirque and back to the coast.

Thermes de Cilaos - Thermal spring of Cilaos were noticed in the year 1815 by a goat hunter from St-Louis, Paulin Técher. The spa's spring is heated by volcanic chambers far below the surface. It is believed to relieve rheumatic pain, among other bone and muscular ailments.
