Scandinavian Airlines, or more commonly referred to as SAS (an abbreviation of its former name Scandinavian Airlines System) is the flag carrier of Sweden, Norway, and Denmark. The airline operates from hubs at Copenhagen Airport, Stockholm Arlanda Airport, and Oslo Airport Gardermoen. A founding member of the Star Alliance, SAS flies to more than 100 destinations in Europe, the Middle East, Asia and North America. It also has codeshare agreements with about 25 other carriers. The SAS fleet is configured with either a single class cabin (SAS Go, which is the SAS Economy Class) or three cabins (SAS Business, SAS Plus, which is Premium Economy Class, and SAS Go). EuroBonus is SAS's frequent-flyer program. Members earn points on all SAS and Widerøe flights as well as on Star Alliance flights. You can check-in online, by mobile or by self-service kiosks and airport counters. Online check-in will be open as early as 22 hours and up to 1 hour before your flight departure time. It offers the convenience of seat selection, purchase of travel options, and printing out boarding passes in the comfort of your home or office. SAS Self-service Kiosks are also available at selected airports. You can use these kiosks for printing boarding passes and luggage tags. Passengers can also purchase lounge access, change seats and extra baggage at the kiosk. Another convenient way of checking–in is via mobile phone. You can either use the SAS app, access the SAS mobile portal by visiting m.flysas.com or reply to the SAS SMS service. Your boarding pass will be sent directly to your mobile phone. No need to print out, just show your mobile boarding pass at the gate. Passengers with special requirements, unaccompanied minors or those traveling with pets, are required to check in at an airport counter.

Seating

On long-haul flights, the aircraft has three cabins. SAS Business has wide sleeper seats and on selected aircraft, features seats that convert into either angled beds or flatbeds, with power sockets and a 15-inch screen. SAS Plus is SAS’ premium economy class, 32” wide recliner seats are arranged in a 2-3-2 layout. SAS Plus tickets are refundable, and passengers can avail of free seat selection, access to lounges and fast track security at the airport. SAS Go, or the economy class, offers narrower standard seats. The seats are 18” wide with a 30-31” pitch in a 3-3 seating or 2-4-2 layout, depending on the aircraft. SAS Go Light is not a separate cabin class but is an economy fare class available on all European routes for those who travel with hand luggage only.

Baggage Allowance

Passengers, regardless of fare class are allowed one carry-on bag with a maximum weight of 8 kilograms plus one personal item. All carry-on luggage must fit in the overhead bin or under the seat. Checked baggage allowance depends on the service class. SAS Business Class and SAS Plus passengers can have two baggage of 23 kilograms each. SAS Go passengers have a complimentary baggage allowance of one bag weighing 23 kilograms. In Flight Service

F&B: SAS serves complimentary coffee, tea, and water onboard regardless of the time of day for all flights. On domestic flights in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and Finland, SAS offers free breakfast on flights departing from 6-9 am. If your flight is after 9 am, SAS Go passengers can purchase a large selection of sandwiches, meals and salads, and a variety of carbonated beverages from the SAS CloudShop, Our Café. Meals are complimentary for all SS Plus and SS Business Class passengers.

Entertainment: On long-haul flights, each seat has a personal TV screen featuring Audio Video on Demand (AVOD) with individually controlled music. SAS Business and SAS Plus seats have an AC power port, while power ports are shared between every two seats in the Economy cabin. Wi-Fi service is free is for Business and SAS Plus flyers. Wi-Fi access is also available in Economy for purchase. All SAS passengers are also offered a wide selection of international and local newspapers.
