Check In

Copa Airlines has a Web Check-in service that allows you to check-in up to 36 hours before your flight departs. For flights to and from the United States, web check-in starts from 24 hours before the flight. Passengers with special needs, in groups of 10 on a single booking, on codeshare flights, or traveling with infants or pets cannot use online check-in and must check in at the airport. Passengers departing from Havana, Cuba also cannot use online check-in and must check in at the airport. If you are checking in at the airport, please remember to allow for enough time as the check-in counters will close 30 minutes before the flight's scheduled departure time.

Baggage Allowance

The baggage allowance for Copa Airlines international flights is one carry-on bag of 10kg maximum. Checked luggage for flights within South America is two pcs with a combined weight of 32kg. For other flights, Economy Class passengers can check-in two pcs of 23kg. Business Class passengers can check-in two pcs of 32kg. High tier members of relevant traveler loyalty programs are entitled to extra complimentary baggage allowance. Do check the airline's website for details.


The airline's fleet of 84 aircraft consists of 13 Boeing 737-700, 59 Boeing 737-800 and 12 Embraer 190 planes. Each aircraft in Copa Airline's fleet has two cabin classes: Business Class and Economy Class except for one Embraer plane with an all-economy cabin. Business Class cabins have leather recliner seats with footrests and adjustable headrest, a power outlet and USB port, and a personal Audio-Video-on-Demand (AVOD) screen. Economy seats are leather seats with an adjustable headrest and, depending on the aircraft, personal AVOD or flip down screens above the seats.

In Flight Service

F&B: Business Class passengers will have pre-departure beverages and multi-course meals, on international flights. Complimentary food is served in all cabins, but the type of meal will vary depending on the destination, duration, and time of your flight. Passengers can carry their own food aboard and eat it in-flight but are prohibited from drinking alcoholic beverages other than those served on board.

Entertainment: Copa Airlines offers Inflight entertainment that will vary depending on the aircraft. The newer A737-800 planes have in-seat entertainment touch screens showing a variety of movies, TV shows, and children’s programming. Other aircraft will have a selection of music channels for passengers.
