Key Information: Camiguin Airport is a domestic airport located in the Camiguin province in the Philippines. It serves the Mambajao area, which is the capital city of the province, with a population of just under 40,000 people. As the only airport in the province, Camiguin Airport is the main gateway to this beautiful island. The airport is considered to be a Class 2 Minor Domestic Airport by the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines, and this is the governing and operational authority responsible for Camiguin Airport. Cebgo, a subsidiary of Cebu Pacific, operates daily flights from Cebu which take about 45 minutes. Philippine Airlines, through PAL Express, will also be starting a flight route from Cebu to Camiguin, which will be operational starting from December 2017.Terminal Information
Camiguin Airport’s terminal is a small single-storey building with a small waiting area and a welcome desk. There are few amenities to speak of and travellers should note that there is only tarmac deplaning from the aircraft. How to Get Around
Camiguin Island in general, including its most populated region, Mambajao, is off the beaten path and is therefore not very well-developed. However, it is known to travellers as a beach paradise, with many activities revolving around diving, yoga, freediving, hiking, and other water sports. Because of how secluded it is, many travellers consider to be safer than most other Filipino cities. There are several transportation options to get around the island, including renting a motorcycle, a jeepney, or a multicab. These can be arranged through your hotel or accommodations, and travellers can expect an informal process.
