Shandong Airlines Co., Ltd., or SDA, is an airline in the People's Republic of China. It is based in the Shandong Airlines Center in Jinan, Shandong, with Jinan Yaoqiang International Airport as the main hub. The airline's focus cities are Beijing Capital International Airport, Qingdao Liuting International Airport, and Yantai Laishan International Airport.

Shandong Airlines is a subsidiary of Air China, along with Air Chian Cargo, Shenzhen Airlines, Air Macau, Beijing Airlines, and Dalian Airlines. It was established on March 12, 1994 and began operations in September that same year. Along with five of China's other provincial airlines, Shandong Airlines jointly founded the Xinxing Aviation Alliance in September 1997.

Baggage Allowance & Fees

Free baggage allowance for adult passengers are as follows: a maximum of 40kg for First class passengers, 30kg for Business class passengers, and 20kg for Economy class passengers. Infants are given 10kg free baggage allowance. Packing of checked baggage must be solid and able to withstand certain pressure and are locked. The sum of the length, width, and height of each piece of checked baggage must not be more than 203cm and no less than 60cm. Carry-on items are limited to 5kg each; passengers with First class tickets can bring up to two items, while each passenger with Business or Economy class tickets can carry only one item. The dimensions for carry-on items brought into Boeing series aircraft must not exceed 20 × 40 × 55cm, and no more than 15 x 35 x 55cm for CRJ aircraft. Shandong Airlines has the right to refuse the following items according to aviation regulations: dangerous goods such as flammable liquids, explosives, gases, spontaneously combustible materials, toxic and infectious substances, and radioactive substances, live animals (except for small domesticated pets, guide dogs, or hearing dogs), and items that can be considered as weapons such as knives and guns.

Inflight Food

Shandong Airlines provides its passengers with a variety of inflight meals including Western and Chinese dishes, depending on the time and duration of the flight. First class passengers in flights of over an hour are given breakfast, lunch, or dinner accordingly. Passengers in Economy class are given hot breakfast, dinner, a light meal, or snacks. For short travels, biscuits or sandwiches are served.

Inflight Entertainment

Entertainment available on board may depend on the flight route and ticket class. Passengers will be provided with visual entertainment by screening various films, variety shows, and documentaries through the aircraft's entertainment system.

Where We Fly

As of January 2013, Shandong Airlines operates scheduled passenger service to the following international destinations: Phnom Penh International Airport in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap International Airport in Siem Reap in Cambodia; Hang Nadim International Airport in Batam, Indonesia; Narita International Airport in Tokyo and Kansai International Airport in Osaka, Japan; Incheon International Airport in Seoul, South Korea; Taipei Taoyuan International Airport in Taipei and Hualien Airport in Hualien, Taiwan; and Chiang Mai International Airport in Chiang Mai, Thailand. The airline also plans to launch services to Delhi in 2015. Shandong Airlines also handles flights to numerous domestic destinations, including Beijing, Guangdong, Guangxi, Chongqing, Fujian, Hainan, Jiangxi, Shanghai, Sichuan, Tianjin, and Xinjiang.
