Tianjin Airlines, formerly known as Grand China Express Air, is a regional airline founded in China in 2004. It officially commenced operations as Tianjin Airlines in 2009. It is headquartered in Tianjin Binhai International Airport passenger terminal building, Dongli District, Tianjin, People's Republic of China, where it operates domestic scheduled passenger and cargo flights. It also has a hub at Haikou Meilan International Airport, with secondary hubs at Xi'an Xianyang International Airport, Hohhot Baita International Airport, and Ürümqi Diwopu International Airport. Its focus cities include Beijing Capital International Airport, Nanning Wuxu International Airport, Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport, and Dalian Zhoushuizi International Airport. As of February 2015, the airline has a fleet of 90 aircraft: 17 Airbus A320, 23 Embraer ERJ 145, and 50 Embraer 190. It also operates 11 Dornier 328 aircraft owned by Hainan Airlines.

How to Check In

Tianjin Airlines offers online check-in service, where passengers can select their preferred seats, print their boarding passes (on A4 paper) to be presented, along with ticket registration documents, at security and boarding. However, this service does not apply to passengers over 70 years of age, those who are ill, disabled, pregnant, or traveling with an infant. These passengers should check-in at Tianjin Airlines’ counters and self-service terminals at the airport. The airline’s counters at the airport have different types: one for ordinary passengers; another for frequent flyers (for VIPs, first-class passengers, and those with Deer cards); and another is the Special Guest Service Counter, which is for passengers who arrived late and for those with special needs (e.g. unaccompanied children, pregnant women, injured passengers, etc.).

Baggage Allowance & Fees

For passengers flying on A320, E190 aircraft, they are entitled to a baggage allowance of up to five kilograms, with dimensions not exceeding 15 × 25 × 35 cm. Economy-class passengers are allowed to carry one, while first- and business-class passengers can carry two pieces. For Jinpeng Gold / Silver members, corporate VIP, and CIP passengers, a hand luggage is also allowed, in accordance with the number corresponding to their class of travel standards. Standard baggage restrictions apply, which includes flammable items, magnetic and/or radioactive materials, toxic and/or corrosive substances, firearms, ammunition, lighters, matches, built-in lithium batteries, pyrotechnic devices, pepper sprays, knives, and live animals (except domesticated pets/animals), and more.
