SmartLynx Cheap Flights & Promo Fares

SmartLynx Airlines is a charter airline based in Latvia, operation flights on wet lease out, holiday charter flights, and ad hoc passenger flights across Europe, Africa, and Asia. It is privately owned and was established in 1992 by four professional pilots and one flight engineer as LatCharter, starting operations in 1993 with leased Tupolev Tu-134B aircraft. The Tupolev was replaced with the larger Yakovlev Yak-42, in April of 2001, and was then further replaced by Airbus A320-200s by December of 2003. In July of 2006, Loftleidir, the aircraft lease arm of Icelandair Group, acquired a majority of 55% shares in the LatCharter stock, eventually buying out the whole company. Since then, the airline expanded its fleet, and now has a total of nine aircraft.
