Lovely family gathering

Stayed on Friday night for our regular night away gathering - me my partner and my two adult daughters . From arriving at 3.00pm on Friday until leaving 10.00am on Saturday absolutely faultless. Great service for Scott behind the bar, beautiful food, lovely rooms and great English breakfast. One of the loveliest places we have stayed

Batter and chips

I was bitterly disappointed with my meal - beer battered haddock. There was very little fish and lots of batter and the fish was extremely over cooked. I couldn't actually eat it. Neither of the staff who cleared the table seemed to notice an uneaten fish or simply didn't think it was worth asking about. The other fish was nearly as bad but the several of my party had food that did look much better and agreed theirs was good. Moral of the story - don't order fish (batter) and chips!

Poor fish and chips

Don’t bother ordering the food - really small portion of fish and staff not really interested in our concern - don’t eat here

Ok

Very quiet pub. Ran out of lasagne as soon as kitchen opened. Ran out of tartar sauce for fish and chips. Room was nice and very big but no atmosphere in the pub. It was cold and had to ask for the fire to be put on. Breakfast was very early between 7and 9. Wouldn't go back.

Fantastic Experience Amazing Food

We found this place to stay during a visit to Catterick races (less than 10 minutes away) and From the moment we arrived at This brilliant place we were greeted with brilliant customer service from a lady who I later found out is the landlady. Amazing kindness with absolutely nothing too much trouble. We stayed in room number 1 and I must say it’s a lovely clean room and has the comfiest bed I’ve ever stayed in anywhere. It’s a nice cosy pub with a cosy atmosphere with nice beer amazing food (new chef started on the night we visited) and the nicest staff inc Scottie behind the bar.
The overall experience was 1st class from start to finish. Thank you
