Relaxing escape worth the visit

Great location, clean and spacious, breakfasts were great and the ability to relax after battling through the markets was ideal. Will recommend to everyone travelling to Marrakech.
The manager Yussef was also brilliant and so helpful.

Fantastic!

The service provided by Yousef is what makes this Riad stand out. It’s within the Medina with all that brings. Once you step through the door you find yourself in peaceful and relaxing harmony. Nothing, absolutely nothing is too much trouble. Everything we needed to know was explained by Yousef. He found us guides, taxis, told us how to get about and stay safe. I loved it here so much that I shall be returning. If there’s any criticism at all, it’s that the decor and furnishings despite being lovely, are a tad frayed at the edges. Can’t recommend this place highly enough.

Wished I could stay longer

Travels limited the duration of my stay, but it was very comfortable while I was there. I would definitely go back in part due to the warm welcome and attentive service. The attendant upgraded my room without an extra charge and prepared coffee for me at 3:00 am before my early morning departure.

Beware when booking

We went to Marrakech for a week in late December/ beginning of January this year. We chose this Riad because we wanted a traditional place to stay but one that offered a restaurant/bar with friendly service for the clients. Many of the reviews across different websites promised that this place was fantastic. It was more pricey than others, but we felt the service and extras were worth it...(the owners spoke English and supposedly were really helpful.) Unfortunately, we were very disappointed.
When we arrived, we were met by a very nice young man, Joseph, who was taking care of the property and unfortunately did not speak much English or French. (Our Arabic is nil, unfortunately.) We don't know where the owners or managers were, but we did not see them for our entire week there. We arrived around 10 pm, and it had been along day travelling, and we were very hungry. Much to our dismay, we were told that the restaurant would not be open during out stay because the cook was away. (This had been a big selling point for the hotel!) We asked if there was a restaurant nearby but were told that everything was closed. The next day, of course, we found many restaurants to be nearby and open until late every night. Actually, it is difficult to get a restaurant that is open before 7:30 or 8 pm.
The breakfasts were prepared by Joseph and the housekeeper every morning. They were delicious, plentiful, and they did their best to keep the menu varied. Because Joseph did not sleep at the hotel, you had to pre-arrange a time for breakfast the next morning - and then it was usually late. That was not a problem for us usually, but it was on the days that we had a day-trip planned or were leaving for the airport.
Although the website (and prior email communication with the out of town manager) assured us we could pay the bill by credit card, on the day we were leaving we were told that we were not allowed to use credit card. First, we were told the machine did not work, then that the "manager" said we were not permitted... when we insisted that we had no choice, we were permitted to use our card.
The experience left us with a feeling that we really had been taken advantage of. Because we were traveling with my father and mother in law we paid extra for a hotel with a restaurant and room service - which this hotel promised. It was nothing like that.
Beware when booking.
