The perfect venue for a relaxed wedding
If you're looking for a beautiful venue for a fun but relaxed wedding, the Devlin couldn't be more perfect!
THE VENUE
The venue itself is so cool! We had a lovely sunny day in August so we were able to have the terrace with the rooftop pulled back which was so special. The view from the other side of the bar over the mountains is gorgeous. We didn't bother with decorations beyond little bud vases with some flowers on the tables because the decor is already lovely!
THE FOOD!
The food was fantastic. We wanted there to be a flow of food all evening instead of a sit down meal and the team were so fantastic in making our vision come to life. We had antipasti platters when people arrived, small canapes before the speeches, fish and chips (and veggie/vegan options) before the band and then pizzas as our late night food. Someone said 'my only complaint about the food is there's so much of it I can't eat it all' so mission accomplished there! They also laid out our cakes so beautifully and wrapped all the leftovers up for us for our Day 2 (and the food tasting was so fun!)
THE DRINKS
The drinks were also amazing! We have a lot of non-drinkers so we wanted a venue that did lots of really good quality non-alc options – the strawberry and basil mocktail was a particular hit! We also wanted a cocktail hour with mini margaritas and iced lattes which was off menu, but the bar team made it happen and it went down an absolute treat.
THE ROOMS
The rooms at the Devlin aren't huge, but they have everything you need. The bathrooms are lovely and the pressure in the showers is great! The beds are super comfortable and I have it on good authority from many of our guests that the Tayto in the rooms was very much appreciated come 2am!
THE BEST TEAM EVER
Finally, the team. The staff at the Devlin are some of the kindest, most wonderful people and they made the preparation, the day itself and the days around the wedding just perfect. Firstly a huge shoutout to Kaela who helped us organise the entire thing. She was such a calming presence and I knew everything was in hand.
I don't know the names of the rest of the staff who helped on the night but We had so many guests commenting the next day about how incredible the team were. You can tell they love their work and it really made all the difference! They were even smiling and laughing clearing up at 1.30am!
And then there's the team who weren't even at the wedding itself but looked after us and our guests so well that I can't do a review without shouting them out! Barbara, Leonora, Joao and Jamie were so amazing (Jamie even helped us pack up our car when we were leaving?!)
We felt so well looked after from start to finish and I honestly can't shout them all out highly enough.
I hope this review has convinced you that if you want a cool, relaxed and fun wedding with delicious food and wonderful staff, the Devlin is absolutely the place to be

Good!
Great location, room was small but had everything I needed. I dropped a star because hearing other room doors slamming is quite bad, no soundproofing and the TV wasnt working, kept showing me the circle of doom! Nice bar on the ground floor and the roof terrace!

Room was extremely small which I had expected and very well decorated.
However, the upkeep was a tiny bit lacking. The shower fixtures didn't seem to work correctly. There was also a random odour in the room and the cleaning staff had simply left a strong air freshener on the ground near the bed as a solution, which only served to make things worse.
Also worth noting that there are no parking options at the hotel or nearby. Only on-street parking is available.

Wonderful meal with exceptional waiter Panos
Had a beautiful meal on friday 26th June, loved the vibe in the cocktail bar and had a lovely meal upstairs. Our waiter Panos was exceptional and was more than helpful on advising cocktails and food in which he scored top marks on the recommended cocktail and main dish, it came to dessert I told him I didn’t like tiramisu but trusted his advise after doing so well on my main dish and got the tiramisu which was absolutely delicious! The Devlin is a lovely boutique hotel in a pleasant residential neighborhood a few short tram or bus stops from the center of Dublin. It’s beautifully designed and the staff were great…friendly and helpful. The only problem for us was that the rooms are very small and the double bed only had one way to get in and out. My husband and I are 81 and although we’re “spry” getting in and out of bed was as pain. Also, there was virtually no place to unpack. Only three hangers on three hooks and a draw under the bed that we needed to get down on our 81 year old hands and knees to access. Otherwise we loved staying at this charming hotel!
