Cant wait!!! August 2026

We've had two holidays here - first one was 20+ years ago and last one 2025, both were an absolute joy, love the place, Nikos and family are lovely.
Rooms nothing fancy, clean and had all you needed (air con had to be fixed, which it was, the very next day, worked a treat) nice pool and bar, snacks were tasty - its all there and a great location for bus, water taxi, beach, tavernas and restaurants.
Previous holidays we have only stayed a week, booked 10 days this August - cant wait!

Lovely stay - hosts & location excellent

Booked a package via Olympic holidays for a week’s stay at Yalis.
We arrived via taxi in the afternoon and were immediately greeted by Christina and shown straight to our room. We stayed in the first room of the single story building to the left. Our first impressions were a large balcony, a clean room with a double bed (not two singles pushed together), a small kitchenette and a modern wet room style bathroom.
We are used to a typical Greek bathroom with clunky plumbing & a shower curtain that seems to follow you around but this appears to have been recently renovated & had high water pressure.
The kitchenette had the basics of a plug-in hob, fridge/freezer (with ice cube tray) under the counter, selection of cutlery, crockery & glasses. We did not cook in the room during our stay but did use the fridge/freezer and was suitably cold. There was a tea towel in the room but no sponge/washing up liquid so do bring some if you plan to use the kitchen).
We paid €56 for a week (€8 per day) of air conditioning and was excellent.
The room was made up every day after our first day & fresh bedding/towels half way through the week.
The pool area has fixed umbrellas and two sun beds per umbrella. The pool is clean & tidy and had a small child’s pool attached.
The reviews mentioning building materials etc… are correct that there are some areas with materials left piled up but these are, in my opinion, tucked out of the way and do not impact you at all. It appears to be partly the result of renovation works happening over winter.
The main couple who manage the hotel & Borsalino bar are Christina & Nikos and they are very friendly and happy to help where they can. They share ownership of the hotel with their family who look after the gardens and clean rooms etc… They arranged a taxi to take us back to the airport which arrived promptly. July 2025, it was €20 from the hotel to the airport.
The pool bar food menu is quite simple (salads, pizza, sandwiches etc…) but if you’d like more variety (gyros, grilled meat & other typical Greek dishes) there is a grill house one minute’s walk east of the hotel.
The bar has Sky Sports which is generally left on throughout the day/evening but was never loud & we certainly couldn’t hear it from our room/balcony. Had no issues with noise but I know this always depends on the guests staying at the time.
Location of the hotel is brilliant. Just outside bus stop 10, neighbouring a supermarket (with bakery inside), grill house, 2 restaurants (we recommend Porta Rossa) all within 2mins walk.
The beach (Achladies) is only a few minutes walk away and had space for towels or sun beds for rent (July 2025 we saw 2 beds & an umbrella for €20). There is also 3 different beach bars/tavernas available on Achladies offering good variety and reasonable prices.
Overall, brilliant hotel for a simple Greek break. No frills but the room nicer than the average 2* Greek hotel, in my opinion. Great hosts, location and communal areas. Would happily book again!

Such a Shame

Had a friendly greeting on arrival for a weekend here, and I was pleased with the accommodation. Generous room size, good bathroom and if self catering everything you may need in the kitchen cupboards. The room was well thought out and pleasant and the added benefit of a double bed. Lovely little patio at the front in the shade. I was all ready to express to the owners how much I had enjoyed my weekend stay, until.... the Sunday evening. At 1am I was woken with a start, as it appeared a coach load of revellers had arrived. The attached bar, Borcalino, right outside my room appeared to be hosting an all you can drink, Karaoke, with loud music, screeching, shouting, drunkeness and arguments. The owner was encouraging the loudness, indeed he was probably the loudest voice. At one point after some guests could hardly stand any more, he was shouting for them to go to bed. In my naivety I thought this will probably stop at 2am, but no, this went on until 4am. No sign of any of the owners in the morning when I left.

Near perfect place to unwind, enjoy and relax

A very friendly family run small self catering apartments with swimming pool, bar and snacks.
The rooms are basic (no tv) but are clean. Small kitchenette area but has a kettle, toaster and portable electric 2 ring hob.
The bed is comfy and the bathroom is good.
You do have to pay around €56 euros for aircon but you need it.
The pool is a good size, has sunbeds and gets the sun all day.
Free WiFi which is good enough for social media.
The owners are friendly, helpful and hard working to make your stay good.
The location is great for Achladies beach, 4 minute walk. The beach has some great eateries and also has a jetty for the water taxi to take you to Skiathos town. There are plenty of eateries around the apartment, plus a great car hire place and also 2 well equipped supermarkets and bakeries. Great all-round spot

Very good location
