Short Stay parking is the closest car park to the airport just outside the entrance and ideal for stays of up to a few days. For longer stays there is the Medium Stay car park, a short walk away and the Long Stay car park which is the furthest car park from the airport however a shuttle bus is available to make a quick transfer. This is the cheapest car parking option at Newcastle Airport. Pre-booking your parking online is recommended for longer stays with significant savings to be made.

Newcastle Airport to Newcastle is a short 10 minute drive via the A696, Sunderland is 22 mile, 35 minute drive via the A1, the main road connecting the region, Durham is a 25 mile, 30 minute drive via the A1 and if you're heading to Carlisle it is a 1 hour 10 minute, 56 mile drive via the A69.

There is a Newcastle Metro station at the airport with services on the Green Line. The Green Line runs to Sunderland with stops in Newcastle City Centre, Gateshead and Fellgate. Services depart eery 12 minutes with a journey to Newcastle Central Station taking approximately 25 minutes. From Newcastle you can transfer onto Yellow Line services which run to Tynemouth and South Shields.

For train services to cities such as Carlisle, Durham, York and Middlesbrough take the metro service to Newcastle Central Station.

Newcastle Airport by bus/coach

A bus stop is outside the entrance of the airport with routes serving the local area. There are hourly bus services to Eldon Square with a journey time of 20 minutes.
