Only one of the twelve large Latte structures is left standing.

Garapan – Located in the west coast of Saipan, Garapan is the largest village and considered to be the center of tourism for the country. Many hotels are located here as well as the American Memorial Park, which commemorates the American soldiers who lost their lives during the Battle of Saipan. Garapan is also home to several of the country’s more popular tourist destinations including some beautiful lighthouses, the Paseo De Marianas and Kristo Rai Church.

Lake Susupe – Located in Susupe, a village on Saipan, Lake Susupe is the only lake in the island. Lake Susupe is home to several bird species that can only be found in the Marianas. The Mariana Common Moorhen is one of those species. It is an endangered species with only a population of 30 to 40. The lake is also visited by several Asian bird species who migrate during the winter.
