Aalborg Airport is located just 6.5km northwest of the city centre of Aalborg. The third largest airport in Denmark, it is a modern international airport with daily domestic and international flights. Norwegian and SAS have flights from Copenhagen to Aalborg, while Norwegian and other airlines also offer international direct flights from other European cities.
The airport is conveniently located north of the city. It is very easy to take a bus or a taxi from the airport. If you have light luggage, you can even walk 2km to the nearby Lindholm train station. An extension of the current railway line will soon connect the Lindholm station directly to Aalborg Airport. For those with more stamina, it is also possible to walk the 6km all the way from the Airport to the city in approximately 1 hour.
Aalborg (or Ålborg) is an industrial and university city in northern Denmark, towards the top of the Jutland peninsula. Its historical roots relates to its geographical position as an important harbor and a Viking trading post. Predominantly an industrial town, the architectural heritage seen in modern-day Aalborg are the well-preserved mansions of the prosperous merchants.

While Aalborg has a very good public transport system, it is fairly easy to walk around the city centre. Taxis are very expensive. The best way to get around Aalborg though is by bicycle and tourists can easily rent one from the tourist information office.

Budolfi Church- Budolfi Church, now a cathedral, dates from the end of the 14th century. Built in the Gothic style, it consists of a nave flanked by two aisles, a tower, and a porch. After the original tower was destroyed by fire in 1663, the striking new Baroque tower, was completed in 1779. The church has 16th-century frescoes and an intricately carved early Baroque altarpiece from 1689 created by Lauridtz Jensen.
Jens Bang's House- On Østerågade near the old town hall, is one of Denmark's best examples of 17th-century domestic architecture. Built in 1624 by the Aalborg merchant Jens Bang in the Dutch Renaissance style, the four-story sandstone building is noted for its rising gables and sculpted auricular window decorations.
Jomfru Ane Gade(literally Virgin Anne's Street) - One of the most famous streets in Aalborg if not in Denmark. Popular for its cafés and restaurants during the day, it is even busier at night with its clubs, discos and bars. And if you fancy a drink to finish (or begin) the evening, Jomfru Ane Gade – a narrow-but-lengthy strip of watering holes – is often referred to as ‘Scandinavia’s longest bar’.
Utzon Center- Born in Copenhagen, noted architect JørnUtzon grew up in Aalborg. The centre contains an exhibition on Utzon's work, which includes the Sydney Opera House, as well as various educational displays on architecture and design. According to legend, Utzon found his inspiration for Australia’s most famous edifice in the choppy waves of the Limhord – and the Center, built in tribute to his career, echoes that great auditorium in the sharp peaks that spring up from its roof.
