Typically, the autumn foliage season in Japan starts in mid September in Hokkaido – the northernmost main island of the country. - Takino Suzuran Hillside National Government Park – It is the only Japanese national government park located in Sapporo, Hokkaido, and its colorful leaves make a breathtaking visual combination with the stunning rainbows on display in October.
- Hokkaido University – A famous spot lined with trees adorned in amber-colored leaves during autumn. It’s located in downtown Sapporo and often rated as one of the top universities in all of Japan.
- Jozankei – A laid-back spa town wrapped by steep mountains speckled with golden and yellow leaves. It’s also one of the most developed onsen towns in Hokkaido and is only an hour away from central Sapporo.

Kanto
Whether you’re visiting it in spring, winter, summer or autumn, you surely won’t run out of things to do in Kanto. After all, it is where the wealthy and buzzing capital of Japan, Tokyo, is located.
