"Unacceptable experience - cockroaches and complete indifference." The worst hotel I have stayed in
The room was dirty and neglected, with dust floating, on all surfaces, and generally it was a room that did not resemble anything clean and tidy. The daily "cleanliness" was essentially a superficial dusting of the curtains, without it seeming like a real cleaning of the space.
The breakfast was also much below expectations. Minimal options and low quality. The facilities generally gave the impression that they were decades behind. And now we reach the climax.
The last night, returning to our room, we found ourselves facing spiders everywhere. And we are not talking about one or two. We are talking about more than ten, to a point where we really couldn't stay in the room for even a minute. But the worst thing wasn't just the problem we had with the cauldrons. It was the unacceptable treatment from the hotel. This specific incident made us feel insecurity, disgust, and complete abandonment in a place where we had paid to stay and sleep with meager hygiene and safety conditions. We were two girls, in the dark night without knowing where to go. There was no other room available at the hotel, no substantial solution was offered to us, and as time passed, we were literally in despair. The receptionist's behavior was, in our experience, contemptuous and ironic, instead of having the slightest understanding towards two customers who were in an extremely difficult situation. As for the explanations we heard that the wooden roof, the air conditioning, the heat, or the humidity might be to blame, frankly, they do not concern us. You cannot answer us by telling us "go kill them" and that generally the whole island has this problem during this period. When a lodging has a pest problem, the responsibility is to address it and ensure guests have a safe and decent room. It is not the client's job to find out if the screws came from the canopy or from the air conditioner. Also, the fact that there are insects in an entire destination is not an excuse for cockroaches in a hotel room. Instead of treating the problem as unacceptable for a customer, it was treated as if it were completely normal.
And to be clear: no one expects to pay a little money and find themselves in a luxury hotel. We know very well that the lowest price means lower requirements regarding amenities, luxury, or aesthetics. But this does not mean that just because a hotel is cheap, the customer has to accept dirt, cockroaches, and unacceptable behavior. Cleanliness, basic hygiene, and respect for the customer are not luxuries and do not depend on how much money someone paid.
The biggest problem, therefore, was not just the condition of the hotel. It was a complete lack of professionalism and respect towards us when such a serious issue arose. You can't pay for accommodation and end up finding cockroaches in your room, while when you ask for help the response is indifference and sarcasm. Old infrastructure, insufficient cleanliness, mediocre breakfast, and, above all, unacceptable management of a serious hygiene problem.
Personally, after this experience, I will never stay at that specific hotel again and I would not recommend it to anyone.

THE WORST HOTEL IN ALL OF LEYKADA
Worst of all, however, is that last night, after we returned from our walk the room was full of cockroaches. The cockroaches were full in the bathroom, and under the beds they parade.
We communicated directly with the gentleman who was in the lobby, and his answer was to go kill them and that Lefkada generally has this issue.
Also, there was no availability for another room but no intention to help us find somewhere else or to compensate us.
Unfortunately, as long as there are people who give their money to such loans with old infrastructure, they will not care to invest and develop.
Even the chairs at breakfast were hollow and ready-made. All shame.
