A real gem of place to be based on Kea Island
Serie Hotel is a class act. Don't bother with the airbnb listings, one of which failed to meet our expectations (some are down 'goat's paths'). Here you will find comfort and the best hospitality. The views from the terrace are sublime as they face the 'chora' (the old town) and capture the early morning light. The location is a big plus as you can enjoy the wonderful cafes and restaurants in the chora both early morning and in the evening (don't miss the Panorama Cafe for coffees and pastries and the Kilix for a wonderful gourmet food dining experience). It was so nice to have decent towels and other hotel amenities at the same price as the airbnbs. Neraida Maxouti really makes the difference when it comes to hotel management. She helped us find a room on the weekend when otherwise the island was fully booked. She also couriered a piece a clothing to me, which I had left behind in the room. There are no words to describe my gratitude. Neraida shows true Greek hospitality and professionalism. I really look forward to going back. If you want to experience an island that is unspoilt by over--tourism, Kea is the place to go. Only 50 mins from Athens, it is not to be missed!!!

Wonderful stay in Kea. Finally a quite place to stay in
My husband and I have visited Serie this weekend and we had a wonderful and quiet long weekend!!! The girls who run the hotel (Neraida and Maria) were very kind and helpful. Our room was very clean, quiet big and with a very beautiful bathroom with shower. Also the bed was a huge double bed with very comfortable pillows! The breakfast was good and tasteful as well. I really recommend this hotel as it is in Ioulida but away from the crowd :)

What a Wonderful Place to Stay In...and a Wonderful View
We came to Kea on a whim, because we had heard about the walking trails leading out of Ioulida. Serie was a delightful hotel. It was in a great location to easily access the chora of Ioulida as well as the trails. We hiked to the Ancient Lion one afternoon and then took a cab to the trail head and hiked to Karthea the next day. The hike to Karthea is a must do.
From the hotel, we could walk to the chora and enjoy our breakfast at a local bakery have dinner in a local restaurant, and of course a drink in one of the many tavernas. The view of the chora and down the valley to the sea from our own porch was splendid and a great place for a glass of wine in the evening. The room itself was very nice and comfortable. We really enjoyed it. We found the hotel and the location to be one of the highlights of our 10 day trip to Greece.
Nerida at the reception was very helpful in pointing us in the direction of where we wanted to go. She was also a joy to talk with. We would return to the island and stay at Serie again.

Wonderful stay in beautiful, natural and non-touristy Kea
We loved our stay at Serie. The rooms were charming, spacious and clean, and hotel staff was very welcoming. At first I was concerned that the hotel was inland (usually the good Greek island hotels are closer to the water), but Kea is different, as the town center Iolida is up high in the hills. As such, we had a stunning view from our balcony of the dramatic mountains rolling into the sea. The hotel was an easy central point to drive to various beaches (or even use the hiking trails running across the island). The only issue is that the bells from the nearby church ring quite early, so it wakes up light sleepers... but in any case I would definitely recommend this hotel if you have a car.

The lady that runs the hotel,Neraida,was very helpful.
We really liked the rooms and definitely going to visit again.
The view from the balcony was amazing. Breakfast was also very good.
I have been to Kea five times and this was the best room I have stayed in so far.
