Affordable, friendly, classic hotel

The surprisingly spacious building features 14 rooms of different sizes. All have a nice flair and a functional and classic layout with wooden furniture and clean, white sheets. The beds and the rooms are comfortable and equipped with fan, mosquito nets and some come with A/C. The hotel is located at a main street, so try to avoid the front facing rooms, the other ones are really quiet. From the upper floors you have a nice view over the hill sides of Kandy. Mountain View Inn is located 550m west of the train station and is easily reachable by foot. The owner is very friendly and helpful. The WiFi works well throughout the entire hotel.

Great budget accomodation

For the price you can't expect too much, but is located near the train station, about 20 min to city centre and has a cheap restaurant to buy local food at the side. The owner was super nice and helpful, he provided us some towels and toilet paper and gave us good tips about where to go. The room was small and basic but clean, the bathroom had an amazing hot shower that we loved, it worked perfectly. Overall is great for the price.

Budget homestay but worth to stay

Close to railway station. Just within walking distance. Also near tu bus station where to catch bus to sigiriya or other location. There are also local restaurant infront of this GH where easy to find local food if you get hungry at night

kind friendly hosts

not the greatest place to stay ... but handy to town and main attractions, and cheap eateries.
the host was very friendly and helpful and welcoming.
the room let the place down.
all the rooms were dark and dingy and quite dirty, a lot of dust and cobwebs.
the bathroom was filthy and in need of repair, and often we had no water, including to flush toilet.
uncomfortable beds, (my base was broken) ..
such a pity, because location good, and hosts great.

Fairly basic good location

This is a fairly basic small hotel. The host is very friendly and helpful. The location is good, being walking distance from the train station and the centre of town. You can even walk down to the Sacred Tooth Temple.
