Gladly again

When I'm in Madrid, I always stay here. Central, clean, uncomplicated, safe. The shared bathroom is always clean too. The room facing the street isn't quiet, but that doesn't bother me. Unfortunately, there's no elevator. I always feel very comfortable.

The walls of my single-bed shared-bath room were filthy. They really need to be cleaned. Also, there was a blanket in the closet but it looked unwashed so I ended up sleeping in my jacket to stay warm.

Convenient for proximity to train station

Convenient location, close to Atocha station.
The room is small but clean and with a sink and for some, a shower.
The bedding is good, we slept well. The soundproofing is very correct.
The disadvantage is the 3 floors a little steep with suitcases.

Very Cramped - Good for a Couple of Nights

My fiancé and I (26 & 27 years old) stayed here June 30-July 3.
The hostel is located in the centre of Madrid, close to the train and bus station. It is run by a man - he is in his office at the 3rd floor until midnight (and then not again until morning so if you arrive late, you may have difficulty getting a hold of him). He also did not speak any English, so my fiancé did his best to communicate in the little amount of spanish that he understood. We had used the buzzer originally to get into the building, but he gave us a key to the building to use for the remainder of our stay. The hostel rooms are located on the 4th floor. There is no elevator - we did not mind as we are capable of carrying our suitcases up to the 4th floor but this can definitely pose a problem for others so be mindful when booking.
The room was alright - it had a double bed and a working AC, and was quiet with the window closed. There is a sink and a very tall, narrow shower in the room, but there are also 2 other bathrooms on the floor that contain a bathtub/shower and toilet. We only used the shower in our room, but the water wasn't very warm. It was also difficult to wash your feet in there due to the lack of space.
The Wi-Fi worked on and off.
If you only need a bed for a couple of days and the price is good, I would recommend booking. However, if you are able to find a similar price elsewhere (even if a bit more expensive), it may be of better value.

Ideal if you just need a bed for the night.

Ideal if you just need a bed for the night but hardly salubrious, well placed for visiting the town centre of Madrid.
The room rate wasn't cheap & there isn't a lift to the upper floors. A few nights previous we stayed in a 5 star hotel in Madrid for less money, so this one is certainly not Value for money !!!!
