Steps from the Barbarossaplatz square in central Cologne, this 3-star hotel offers air-conditioned rooms and a 24-hour bar. A parking garage is available, and the KölnMesse Exhibition Centre is a direct underground ride away.

The Place We Alwsys Stay.
Hotel Ibis Köln Centrum is located in a nice area of Cologne and it's the only hotel that me and my twin brother stay in when where visiting Cologne for the Christmas Markets dotted around this magical city.
It's a clean Ibis hotel with a nice reception area and pleasant staff.The room that me and my twin brother were allocated was on the 2nd floor (201) which was small but very clean and met our needs.
We had the breakfast option while we were here which was varied and superb and the bar was excellent.All in all a superb hotel in an excellent area and its a hotel well worth staying in.
(This is my 2nd review of the Hotel Ibis Köln Centrum).

Clean room and hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Hotel is close to shops and transport links, making it a great location.

Small but good
Had four nights from Sunday the 12th. July to Thursday the 16. July. We had booked two rooms.
With the danger of sounding snobby, it was the first time we stayed in a three-star hotel for several days, so we did not know exactly what to expect.
The hotel is small and nice quiet. Rooms as well as bath/toilet are also incredibly small, but we did not lack anything.
In the lobby there was bar and opportunity to watch the football matches as we wanted.
The staff was generally very kind and welcoming (except Tuesday evening where there was a girl who seemed indifferent and rude).
The hotel has its own parking in the basement which costs 21 eur per day.
Breakfast was also not missing. It was always possible to get a table.
Please note that the air conditioning in the room is only a climate-regulated facility. That is, it can only cool 10 degrees below the outside temperature. It was a challenge as the weather was up to 34 degrees during our stay, so it is unfortunately something that pulls down the hotel when you come in the summer.
The hotel was also fine, with about 15-20 min walk to the Kölner Dom.
Attractions within 1-2 hours drive could be, for example, Dortmund Stadium which offers tour of the stadium on its own. If you are interested in cars, I recommend Pace Automuseum and Halle 77 in Dortmund.
If we come to Cologne again one day, I will not rule out a night stay at Ibis Centrum.

Very average stay
The ibis Centrum Koln is a small hotel which is well placed for using the Barbarossaplatz. The hotel rooms were quite small, although we did enjoy the view of the Cathedral. Functional hotel, although not in the city centre. It is an easy walk to the metrostop. If I ever come back to Cologne, I'd only consider staying here if alternatives are too expensive.

Poor cleaning
The room was not clean and my glasses were used. That's not okay, even after I mentioned it to the staff. A hotel room should be clean from the start. Otherwise the room and stay was okay, but I probably won't come back.
