An unconventional, but very enjoyable property
The sly Berlin is an unconventional hotel in an unconventional location on the edge of Friedrichshain towards Prenzlauer Berg. Unfortunately, this location is inconvenient considering that it is part of Central Berlin, underground and suburban trains as well as buzzing neighbourhoods are far.
For all other aspects, the stay was an absolutely pleasant surprise. Already during check-in, our receptionist Nicole did everything she could in order to accommodate a generous upgrade to a larger room even before check-in time. That room was beautiful, high ceilings, exceptional design, a huge bathroom, a nice bed and a pleasant air- conditioner. The public spaces of the hotel combine Danish, British and tropical design aspects within a charming combination of several buildings of classic Berlin architecture - a very tasteful appeal.
The smell of Molton Brown amenities enhanced our visit, as well as our I Prefer Titanium amenities: some sweet delight treats, a hand-written welcome card, welcome drink vouchers, which were valid for cocktails of exceptional bar craftsmanship quality, and a 22 Euro food consumption voucher, which inspired us to enjoy breakfast as well. Product selection and quality were surprisingly impressive, service and atmosphere pleasant in the early morning. Just make sure to ask for barista coffee!
Also, the price for value ratio for breakfast, drinks and accommodation convinces to the fullest.
The general service level was mixed, with some of the front desk team members not being perfectly informed, but still a positive overall impression remained due to Nicole's exceptional work.
Overall, despite its inconvenient location, sly Berlin promises a lovely hotel experience.

Outstanding in every way!
The Sly Hotel in Berlin is outstanding in every way. Don’t be deceived by the slightly humble exterior. Behind the entrance doors are superbly crafted spaces with beautifully tasteful interior design. Customer Service delivery is exemplar by highly trained professional staff. The restaurant is a highly efficient space within a stunning glass atrium and led by a top class chef. I would give this superb hotel 6 stars if I could!

Great rooms!
Great place, recommended! Small things that I really appreciate in the room: wooden parquet floors (not old dirty carpets), large tv straight infront of bed, good speaker.
The only room of improvement is the bread selection at breakfast but the salmon made up for it.

Lovely decor, spacious room and spacious, classy bathroom with nice showerhead and good consistent water temperature. Comfortable real king bed, not the dodgy two singles pushed together like a lot of hotels do. Staff were friendly and helpful and all the ones we spoke to had fantastic English (although in classic German style many of them claimed they only spoke "a little" - but it's a heck of a lot better than my German!). Unfortunately though the climate control in the room was malfunctioning and we couldn't adjust it so the room was a little uncomfortably warm for sleeping at 22.5C with the only bedding a luxurious down quilt. Also disappointing that several damages in the walls hadn't been repaired and repainted - the bare white plaster from the damage was very visible on the nice dark paint. Bathroom also had a bit of gunge around the sink and some dodgy silicon repairs in the shower that wasn't color matched and had a lot of excess smears each side of the corner. Listing says no lifts, but there were for the tower we were in, as well as a small accessibility lift on the drop down stairs between sections. Breakfast was a bit pricey, but had a full hot and cold buffet with a lot of variety and good quality food.

BEAUTIFUL HOTEL
Very nice hotel.Lost in the grey buildings.Great rooms.Pentacleaning.Bed with layer that rested.Sleevers, Burnuzzi, Pistolet etc etc etc.Every day cleanliness the sauna is free.The choice is yours.Helpful staff.A very good breakfast.Near the train and many attractions.
