Holiday trip

Perfect location with amazing view of the Batak water reservoir. Good and clean rooms with some tiny flaws into the details. However really lovely, welcoming, kind and helpful stuff. The food in the restaurant was gorgeous.

Новата част е 4*, има 2 сауни, хамам, парна баня, солна стая, релакс зона. Стаите са огромни, а закуската и вечерята на блок маса са перфектни!
The service was amazing at Katalina SPA Resort 4*. The view from our room was amazing. The staff were friendly. It is also a very short walk to the lake and the many restaurants there. Definitely recommend!

Nice retreat, pretty site

This is not yet a developed SPA resort, but they are pushing to do it. The complex offers hotel part, where you could enjoy cozy room or an apartment. We stayed at an apartment, which was really nice. The weather wasn't the best, so we were not able to walk around a lot. About the complex, it offers also outdoor swimming pool, which wasn't at our disposal, probably because of the weather conditions. The complex offers small houses, which have two bedrooms on the second floor and living room with a kitchenette on the first floor. There are BBQs, which you can use to prepare your meal. There is a restaurant, situated in the main hotel building. Really nice place, would recommend. Only two cons. The room and the bathroom have some odor which is unpleasant. We tried to let fresh air for several hours, but that didn't change this condition. Also the joinery is not the best. Be prepared that the free wifi is only in the restaurant.

They managed to disappoint us

The complex looks nice overall. There is a pool, but towels are not provided as it’s usual for hotels with a pool. The staff is generally polite. But some members of the staff tend to gather in front of the reception to smoke and to drink coffee which leaves bad impression.
Our other impressions are only from the double room. It is tiny, there is no closet, only 4 hooks on the wall, there are bedside tables and desk. Therefore, it is absolutely unsuitable for a longer stay. Hygiene is not good enough. I have noticed small pieces of litter on the floor. The pillows are dirty under the pillow-case, with yellow sweat stains from all the people who slept on them: extremely unpleasant and unacceptable. The bathroom is also tiny and there is smell from the drains. This room is definitely not worth the price of 60 levs.
It seems that all hotels of lower category in Bulgaria, including this one, do not isolate the shower from the rest of the bathroom with curtain or cabin. So after use, the whole bathroom is wet. Furthermore, it is not provided any bath mat, so you cannot dry your feet upon exiting which is uncomfortable.

Nice complex, friendly service, good location

We had a 10 days vacation and we love the view to the lake. Food was good, friendly service. It could be cleaner, but it was ok for 2 stars. Prices were normal for this area. bathroom had an awful smell. We will visit again.
