For public transportation, tourists can choose between Greyhound, the primary bus company in the USA, and Amtrak. Greyhound travels all over California and get you to many national parks including Yosemite and Big Sur. Meanwhile, Amtrak’s trains travel across Northern California through the Central Valley. There are also thematic trains special to specific locales such as the Napa Valley Wine Train. Amtrak connects to public transportation in several cities.

Getting to California from outside the United States is easy. The main international airport in California is the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), located in the southwest corner of Los Angeles.
