Why Fly with Spirit?

Checking In

There are several ways to check-in for your flight on Spirit Airways. Web check-in is easy and free of charge. Check-in begins 24 hours before the flight departure time and ends an hour before departure. You can select your seat, purchase baggage allowance or travel insurance at this stage to save on fees as the rates are cheaper online than at the airport. For those who will be checking-in at the airport, there are self-service kiosks at selected airports. You can also check-in at the counters, however, please note that there is a charge of USD5 (PHP 255) to print your boarding pass at the airport.

Seating Guide

Spirit Airlines offer the same deluxe leather seats across all the fare types. The seats do not recline. There is, however, an option called BFS or the Big Front Seat. These are wider seats with extra legroom and costs from USD25 (PHP1,275) for the upgrade, depending on the flight route. The Big Front Seats are located in the first rows of our aircraft and have 32% more legroom than the regular seats. If you prefer a window or aisle seat, seat selection add-on starts at just USD5 (PHP255) and may vary according to specific routes and location in the aircraft.

Baggage Guide

For the Bare Fare category, only one personal item is included in the Bare Fare. This baggage allowance is not the same as the other airlines' standard carry-on baggage allowance. The personal item may be a handbag or a backpack small enough to fit under the seat with a maximum dimension of 16"x14"x12". Spirit Airlines is the first U.S. airline to charge passengers for carry-on bags. Passengers who are carrying larger bags to put in overhead bins will be charged a baggage fee. The airline also imposes a weight limit for checked luggage from 40-50 pounds per bag, depending on the aircraft. Fees are at USD25 (PHP1,275) for the first nine extra pounds, and up to USD100 (PHP5,095) for bags with the maximum weight allowance.

In Flight Service

F&B: Spirit Airlines does not offer complimentary in-flight food and beverages. The airline charges USD3 (PHP155) for all drinks, including bottled water. Cash payment is not accepted, food and drink purchases during the flight must be paid by credit card or debit card. There are also no special dietary meals available for purchase. The menu selection, however, has a variety of options available that should meet most personal requirements.

Entertainment: Spirit also does not offer any in-flight entertainment or WiFi connectivity. There are no magazines, TV screens or headphones. It is recommended to bring along some of your own magazines or download a movie to your phone or tablet to pass the time on your flight.
