Topaz not too good
Arrive late on the 26th August as a couple x of Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
Arrived by Easyjet transfer at 930pm.
Easy check in, paid tourist tax of £21.
Asked if restaurant was still open, sorry closed, no alternative food offered, night porter suggested he would organise a free lunch tomorrow!
Room 3333, lift to third floor,corner family room, two bedrooms of 5 singebeds why when we had booked a double only.
Room smelt of dampness, very dated bathroom, no locking door, that worked! No toiletries, so bring your own no extractor fan, hence the dampness.
Hand and hair soap dispenser.
Fresh soft fluffy white towels though, old flooring covered in old lino.
Toilet is extremely low to the ground, if you have mobility problems then this will be a hazard to you.
Next, the bedroom, kettle and cups supplied, but no tea or coffee.
Safe deposit ,free of charge, free WiFi, very slow so no streaming or even email, make sure you have mobile data.
Large wardrobe and desk with drawers , small bedside table with pin prick of a bedside lamp, useless.. modern TV.
Hairdryer and mini fridge, just about kept the water cold.
Balcony overlooking apartments on all sides, very little daily noise though.
Hotel is situated in a residential area approx 10 minutes from the 'beach'.
Shower has ample hot water both day and night, glass shower screen, overhead hand held shower.
Breakfast 6 till 10am, food is in my mind very good, full English, fruit, cereals, as well as Continental breakfast.
The restaurant is more of a works canteen, no finery, cheap paper serviettes cutlery stuffed in rafier boxes.
Staff very quick in clearing tables so always clean and no queing.
Dinner session is likewise, though this is the only hotel I've come across that serves tea and coffee plus soft drinks and local beer at night ,free despite what board you have chosen, so a definite item bonus.
Let's get to the pool area, after all this is where you will spend most of the day.
Large pool, no pool towels so bring your own, plenty of sun beds and umbrellas, lots of locals use pool but never any problems.

s always very wet, no.one seems to keep it clean or dry.
My partner did fall on slippery surface as did one or two others.
Snack bar and hotels only bar is found here, cheap beer, for a hotel, 3.50 euros for a pint and cocktails as cheap also. Can't comment of the snacks as did not order any

There seems to be no lounge area, save a few chairs and tables in the foyer.
There is a small library but is taped off due to a fall in the ceiling .
Reception staff not too clued up on the area, they have local maps but that's it.
There is also an indoor pool, the pool usually quiet, only 4 beds and same amount of chairs, shallow not safe for the kids jumping in water, water warm.
There is a games room and a quiet TV lounge.
In.my opinion the hotel is on its last legs, very dated paint work chipped and peeling, dampness apparent, bedrooms and bathrooms damaged paintwork and furnishings too.
Though beds very comfortable, air con works as best it can.
The balconies have two plastic chairs, no table, no Ash trays either. The light stays on all night, not just the one we stayed in, but them all.
There was only entertainment on two nights, it being karaoke , one night the pool bar was deserted of guests, as there is no information.board you do not know what is happening in the hotel.
Also no animation team.
There is a self serve honesty shop, selling basics .
Overall I'd would say the hotel is
what it is, no frills, star rating a definite 3, basic.
The Doubletree Hilton offers a better standard for little more than here.

Excellent Stay
I had a wonderful experience at Topaz Hotel. From the moment we arrived, the staff were very welcoming, friendly and professional, making us feel comfortable throughout our stay.
The room was clean, comfortable and well maintained, and the hotel had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The atmosphere was pleasant, and the service was excellent.
A special mention goes to all the staff for their kindness and helpfulness. They really made a difference and made our stay even more enjoyable.
Overall, we had a fantastic experience at Topaz Hotel and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. We would happily stay here again!

change hotels if you want to sleep
room ok had everything i needed fridge kettle etc
cons- shower in room so small if you are bigger than a size 12 your not getting in it!
phone in room not connected. had problem with sink which was repaired when i was out one evening, when i returned 12.15am my door was wide open i thought id been robbed! when reported reception said work man must have left open luckily nothing was missing but made me very nervous. biggest problem 95% of guests were language students with no regard for anyone else staying in hotel, day & night they were screaming & running outside my room, i had no chance of sleeping or rest. what should have been a relaxing holiday was an absolute nightmare. spoke to reception and supervisors for student neither were helpful. if your booked here i would definitely change hotels. i would never stay here again because of the students.
