Does it have to be my own blog or can I nominate any travel blog?

If you have a favorite travel blog that you think totally deserves to be the Best Travel Blog of the Year, just nominate it right away. However, you may very well nominate your own travel blog. Skyscanner will contact the blogger after the nomination period is over to confirm that they want to participate.

Can I submit more than one travel blog?

What happens after I submit a travel blog?

Once the nomination period is over, Skyscanner will select up to ten travel bloggers from each country to enter the second step of the competition. These 10 final nominees get an individual Bloscars profile page on the Bloscars Travel Awards 2014 pages where you can also vote for your favorite nominee. Voting period will run up to 4 weeks.. Each week you can vote for your favorite, which means you can also give your vote to a different nominee each week.

What criteria are blogs judged on? And how will Skyscanner choose the final nominees?

These are the criteria Skyscanner uses to determine the final 10 nominees:

  • Visual appearance: Use of design, readability, font size suitable for all readers, easy to navigate
  • Entertainment factor: Quality of writing / video narrative / photo use. Creativeness through writing and visual aids fitting into context
  • Usefulness: Is the content useful, practical and inspirational?
