Flights to Jamaica
An island country located in the Caribbean Sea, Jamaica is situated to the south of Cuba and west of the Hispaniola Island. It is the third largest island of the Greater Antilles, which includes the nation-states of Haiti and the Dominican Republic. Jamaica was once a territory of Spain known as Santiago before being renamed as Jamaica during the rule of the United Kingdom. It has since gained full independence in 1962 although still loyal to the Queen of Britain.
Jamaica is a popular tourist destination and there are definitely many reasons to visit the country. One of the top reasons is the fact that it is a gorgeous island full of adventure and rich in culture with miles and miles of beautiful coastline. Jamaica has many pristine white sandy beaches dotted across the country along with crystal blue waters and set against breathtaking sunsets. Head over to the sandy coast of the Seven Miles Beach or Cosmos Beach’s rocky coastline to experience this natural landscape.

And of course, one shouldn’t miss the country’s national dish, the ackee and salt fish, which is a local fruit sautéed and served with onions, tomatoes, peppers and salt cod.
Before booking that flight to Jamaica, it is always good to know when the best time to visit the country is. Weather is always a consideration when making these kinds of decision and Jamaica’s weather is excellent. The country enjoys balmy weather all year making it a good destination to visit anytime of the year. However, there is still a distinct high and low season in Jamaica. High season runs from mid-December to mid-April. As is with peak seasons, accommodation and hotel prices in Jamaica can be high and tourist spots can get crowded. On the other end, low season happens between mid-April to mid-December. Hotel and tour prices during this season would definitely be cheaper. However, another thing to note is that spring break season happens throughout March to mid-April so I can get especially crowded with college and high school students.
