How to get around within Andijan

There are many ways to get around Andijan. The most convenient would be to drive a car in the area to and from Tashkent for faster travel. For those who'd like to take local transportation, there are buses and trains available. The bus station on Amir Timur Street is where travelers can catch a ride on the various minibuses and taxis. Those coming from Tashkent can board a bus going to Andijan. No buses can be found for those in Andijan to Tashkent, however, due to the lack of security in the mountain passes.

Trains also make it easier to travel from or to Andijan; this will let travelers visit Bukhara and Tashkent. Those buying tickets need to have some knowledge of Russian, however. If not, there are travel agents present who can help you purchase what you need.

Taxis are also shared among different passengers in Andijan, for those commuting within the city limits or to the airport. Long-distance travel can also be accommodated, but travelers will need to coordinate with the locals to verify the correct amount of payment.

Travelers going to the eastern part of Uzbekistan will probably land on Andizhan Airport. No direct flights are available here, however, so tourists will need to connect their flights via local airlines. Uzbekistan Airways and VIM Airlines can transport passengers coming from major airports such as Tashkent International Airport in Uzbekistan and Domodedovo International Airport in Russia.
