Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport serves the capital city of Taipei and the surrounding northern regions of Taiwan. It is the largest airport in Taiwan and the peninsula’s primary aviation gateway for international traffic. Located about 40km (25 miles) from the Taipei city center in the Taoyuan County, it is also the busiest of Taiwan’s five international airports and one of the busiest worldwide. Taoyuan Airport was formerly known as Chiang Kai-shek International Airport until 2006.
Taoyuan Airport has two terminals. Airlines operating out of Terminal 1 include Cathay Pacific, Cebu Pacific Air, Jetstar Airways, and Tiger Airways. Terminal 2 processes other airlines including AirAsia, AirAsia Philippines, Air China, Delta Airlines, and Qantas Airlines.
There are SkyTrain and shuttle bus services that can transfer travelers between the two terminals. Both Arrival and Departure Halls of Terminal 1 are located on the first floor. The Arrivals Hall of Terminal 2 is located on the first floor, while Departures are located on the third floor.
