Serving Saidpur, Bangladesh, Saidpur Airport is a public airport operated by Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh. The airport has flights to and from Dhaka and Rajshahi, via Shahjalal International Airport and Shah Makhdum Airport, respectively. The destinations are served by three airlines, namely Biman Bangladesh Airlines, United Airways, and US-Bangla Airlines. The airport has one asphalt runway measuring at 1,829 metres or 6,000 feet in length.
Focusing on Saidpur City, or Syedpur, the city can be found located within the Nilphamari District of Bangladesh’s Rangpur Division, and works as a significant communication hub for neighboring major district headquarters. Saidpur also functions as the commercial hub for its surrounding districts, and is believed to never sleep, letting the city be known as ‘city of night’. The biggest Railway workshop of the county, known as Railway Station and Workshop can be found within the city, along with other attractions such as Nat settlement Prison, Saidpur Christ Church, among others. Railway Station and Workshop has worked as the livelihood of the city for many years. The workshop is still an integral part of the town’s survival up to now, and although not a ‘tourist attraction’, visitors are still entertained with the staff allowing visitors to experience a brief tour and show what the nearby railway yards have to offer.
