San Jose Airport

Airport Information

San Jose Airport, not to be confused with San Jose in California (US), is a small domestic airport in the Occidental Mindoro province in the Philippines. It was previously called McGuire Airport, when it was an American air base during World War II. It now serves the city of San Jose, which has a population of approximately 144,000 people. There is one daily flight from Manila to San Jose via Cebgo, a subsidiary of Cebu Pacific, which takes about 1 hour 5 minutes.

Terminal Information

San Jose Airport was renovated in 2013, and the terminal building is now a modern-looking single-storey building. As a small domestic airport, it only has basic amenities.

How to Get Around

San Jose is the economic, cultural, and educational capital of the Occidental Mindoro province. There are a number of commercial activities going on in the city, most of which are agricultural in nature. The airport is located only about 10 minutes by car from the city center. As it is a relatively small airport, travellers are advised to book an airport transfer via their hotel. Alternatively, the airport staff should be able to book a taxi or tricycle (a motorcycle with a sidecar) for you upon arrival.
