General Santos International Airport is located in Barangay Fatima in General Santos City. It replaces the old Buayan Airport in Barangay Buayan, which is now used by the Philippine Air Force as a satellite station. The airport serves as a primary gateway for the SOCSARGEN (South Cotabato, Saranggani, and General Santos) province. It is also the province's transit point for its major export - tuna.
Cebu Pacific flies to General Santos three times a week from Manila and once a week from Cebu International Airport, while Philippine Airlines has daily flights out of General Santos Airport going to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila. AirPhil Express, on the other hand, flies once a week from Manila.
