El Nido Airport, also known as Lio Airport, is a private domestic airport serving the El Nido region, in the Palawan province of the Philippines. The airport is privately owned by AirSWIFT, which operates flights to Manila, Cebu, Clark, and Caticlan. Flights between Manila and El Nido are offered four times per day and the flight time is approximately 1 hour 15 minutes. It is located within the administrative district or barangay of Villa Libertad, which is 2 miles from downtown El Nido.
The airport terminal reflects El Nido’s rustic island vibes. The terminal building is a small open-air building in the style of a hut. While there are very few amenities, travellers can expect a warm welcome by AirSWIFT. El Nido is famous for its breathtaking views, coral reefs, and pristine blue waters, and as the less touristy alternative to one of the most popular beach destinations, Boracay. El Nido Airport is located approximately 5 km from the main downtown area. To get to there from the airport, travellers can either hire a van via their hotel, or take a local tricycle taxi, which is a motorcycle with a side car. AirSWIFT staff will be on hand to call for the tricycle taxis, which cost P200 to P250 for two people, with the journey taking only about 10 minutes.
